  6.     1. VERY Quick reference to revision on .58E

  8.        o CONFIGURATION WINDOW: Some bugs have been removed here,
  9.          while making the code smaller.  Also the program is now
  10.          able to support  31250 Baud  transmitions, although the
  11.          current release does NOT go THAT fast, but the REGISTE-
  12.          RED users version  of Revision F  WILL! We are clocking
  13.          around 18900 Baud on  NULL MODEM 19200 connection,  and
  14.          around 8600 in 9600 HST to  HST connection, and that is
  15.          going to get faster!
  16.  
  17.        o REVIEW BUFFER: The character  flow processing has been
  18.          modified  quite a bit now.  Although this  can be MUCH
  19.          faster than it is now with large buffers, still one is
  20.          faster than previous releases.  Revision F will have a
  21.          completely modified Review algorithm.
  22.  
  23.        o WXMODEM: Is it FINALLY fixed? Please, let me know!

  25.        o Registered users will noticed that the script language
  26.          has been fixed, particularly the CAPTURE and CALL com-
  27.          mands of the program.

  29.        o UNARC: Only change here is the shortcut key, it is not
  30.          a duplicated now.

  32.        o PRINT BUFFER: Nobody seems to use this, so, we removed
  33.          this feature from the  program since it saves about 1K
  34.          of code, plus whatever Review Buffer  you have! So, if
  35.          ya had 16K Review buffer, you have now an extra 17K to
  36.          play around!

  38.        o PHONELIB: Cleaned up some code here too.
  39.  
  40.        o ERROR MESSAGES: Error  messages are not going thru one
  41.          common routine,  giving more consistency  to the error
  42.          messages the user gets from the program.
  43.  
  44.        o INTRO SCREEN: Hope  you like it!  Just click the mouse
  45.          button, or type a key to abort it.

  47.        o What's best on this release,  for me, is that the code
  48.          has been cleaned  up quite a bit. Mantaining this code
  49.          is getting easier, and that's something we really MUST
  50.          do! :-)

  52.        o LOOK for  Revision F,  REGISTERED USERS!  Yeah, sorry,
  53.          there won't  be REVISION F  for non-registered  users.
  54.          That's if I  don't  find a  MAJOR bug that changes our
  55.          mind about that.

  76.        o CONFIGURATION WINDOW: Some little bug in here with the
  77.             operator variable has been fixed. Also tuned up the
  78.             precision of the Fields selector a bit.

  80.        o INSTANT WINDOW: Fixed a problem that caused the window
  81.             to "Dissapear", crashing the system when use trying to
  82.             re-select it again.

  84.        o REVIEW BUFFER: Made some small changes in the Review rou-
  85.             tine, which makes the input flow much faster on large
  86.             Review Buffers. Let me know if it is faster or not!

  88.        o ASCII SET: FINALLY! This is FIXED 100% You should be able
  89.             to use those networks that send strange characters now
  90.             when using the 32-127 ASCII Character set.

  93.        o WXMODEM: I think the problem with WXModem and PLINK is
  94.             fixed. This thing has worked all the time from AMIC to
  95.             AMIC, but since I am not subscribed to PLINK, I can't
  96.             be sure if I am doing it right for them. Hope so! Let
  97.             me know ASAP if not!!!

  143.        o CONFIGURATION WINDOW: As far as I know all the configura-
  144.             tion data  is being  written correctly to  the .Config
  145.             file. We added some more Configuration parameters, and
  146.             a MORE Gadget to access them.  This are the definition
  147.             of the Beep Sound,  and to select the use of the whole
  148.             255 ASCII Table, or just  the normal set.  This why ya
  149.             can still use  those IBM  boards with  fancy menus, or
  150.             with networks like PC Pursuit that require the limited
  151.             ASCII Table set.

  153.             You should be able to  RUN AMIC as  many times as  you
  154.             want w/o having a crash created by the program.
  155.  
  156.             You can change the  operator mode  (to Sum or Rest) by
  157.             clicking the RIGHT Mouse  Button,  a status line is in
  158.             the top right of the  Configuration  window, reporting
  159.             the current status of the Operator.

  161.        o INSTANT WINDOW: Just a minor problem with one of the Fast
  162.             Menu choices... it has been corrected.

  165.        o ASCII SET: There is a  new selection in the SETUP Menu of
  166.             this version, which allows you to select the ASCII Set
  167.             range you want to  get on your screen.   Selecting the
  168.             31-127 Item will insure a clean  screen when connected
  169.             to packet networks like Telenet and TymeNet.  When se-
  170.             lecting the full set (0-255,  ya are able to see those
  171.             fancy IBM borders on some of those ANSI BBS's..

  174.        o SERIAL IO: We have changed the code so that the Serial IO
  175.             Port  priorities  are set  to the value defined in the
  176.             .Config  file, instead of  ZERO as it was done before,
  177.             that will  greately improve  IO performance  on higher
  178.             priorities,  but may deteriorate Multitasking a bit on
  179.             heave file transfers  at high speed,  if this priority
  180.             value is too high..  2 seems to be a  nice balance for
  181.             high performance, without loss of multitasking.

  184.        o TRANSFER WINDOW: It  won't  "vanish"  when this window is
  185.             draged around, as it did on the previous release!
